The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 23,340, of which 53 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,703,396 (daily change + 1.4%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 443 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,214 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 106, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 22,197 deaths have been recorded. 3 95.0% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 673 (58.5% men). Their median age is 65 years. 80.1% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 548 (81.43%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 125 (18.57%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,916 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 475 (daily change + 0.64%). Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 8,963,019 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests 44,495,019 samples have been tested. The seven-day average is 336,856 sample checks.

Self-tests: As of January 17, 2022, 72,218,310 statements of self-diagnostic result have been recorded electronically, while 4,167,640 people came for re-examination.

Bulk Sampling EODY: On January 17, 2022, 149 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 37,313 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 3,591 positive (9.62%) were found.
