Advice on what we should have with us in order to spend a safe and carefree summer, Anastasios Spantideas, a Pathologist, Clinician of Pharmacology and Doctor of the School of Medicine of EKPA, gave speaking to ERT.

“We should be prepared for any contingency that may happen to us. The more remote and isolated areas one goes to, the better prepared one must be and also have the necessary things with them” said Dr. Spatideas, adding that the burns, sun exposure, insect bites and stings are the most frequent phenomena we observe during the summer holidays.

He made it clear that: “We must not forget the dangers of drowning that can occur when we do not observe some basic safety rules, such as swimming and diving in deep water or in unknown waters after eating.”

To the question of journalist Christina Vidou about the five basic things that someone should have with him in the car when he goes on vacation, Mr. Anastasios Spantideas replied: “He should have a first aid pharmacywhere inside there will be some antiseptics such as alcohol, oxygen, betadine, as well as baby wipes, sterile gauzes and even elastic bandages”.

“On vacation, infections and fevers often occur”, for this reason he pointed out the importance of having antihistamine or cortisone ointments for bites or allergies, as well as antipyretics medicines and painkillers.
