The Psychiatric Department of the Mytilene Hospital is organizing on August 25, 26 and 27 a festival under the name “Elelef Ceremony: Happenings – Sayings – Shown” 2023.
The purpose of the action is to manage the stigma that both the disease brings to the mentally ill, as well as the “established” role of the mentally healthy.
The events of the Festival will take place:
On Friday August 25 and Saturday August 26 at the Psychiatric Clinic building from 9 am to 2 pm and at the “Tsamakia” area across from the EOT Beach entrance from 7 pm to midnight.
Events at the Mytilini Hospital Psychiatric Clinic include:
- Exhibition of visual arts – patients and non-patients, native and refugee population – in the regular outpatient clinics of the Hospital’s Psychiatric Department.
- Therapeutic groups in the forecourt and surrounding area of ​​the psychiatric clinic.
- Provision of small meals to the participants.
- Interactive Presentations.
- Decoration – painting of the exterior of the building with the participation of artists in the context of Art Therapy.
The artistic events and therapeutic events, which will take place on the first two days, during the afternoon hours at the “Tsamakia” area, will concern: speeches, traditional dances, choirs, concerts and open psychotherapy groups.
On Sunday, August 27, a therapeutic excursion of therapists – patients and the community population will take place at Charamida beach, where there will be “open” psychotherapy groups, events and a concert for the closing ceremony of the Festival.
