For February, the estimate is the arrival of 5.4 million immunizations from Pfizer, distributed in three flights with approximately 1.8 million doses each. The trips are scheduled for the 10th, 17th and 24th of February.

In addition to those 20 million vaccines, the government expects to receive another 10 million doses of Pfizer for children in the first trimester. This batch, however, does not have a delivery schedule defined by the pharmaceutical company.

Brazil started vaccinating children on January 14, after the arrival of the first flight with Pfizer vaccines. Indigenous Davi Seremramiwe Xavante, 8, was the first to receive the vaccine.

Last Friday (21), the Ministry of Health confirmed the inclusion of Coronavac in the vaccination campaign against Covid-19. According to Rodrigo Cruz, the Ministry of Health has about 6 million doses of Coronavac.

In a technical note, the ministry reported having sent 733,720 doses to the federative units for the vaccination of children.

The immunizer should be used in children who are not immunocompromised and over 6 years old, according to Anvisa’s recommendations.

At this first moment, the shipment of Coronavac is an emergency and will serve the states that have signaled few doses in stock.

The Ministry of Health awaits the response from the federation units on the quantity in stock and the demand for this immunizing agent. If necessary, it evaluates negotiating the acquisition of more doses with the Butantan Institute.
