State deputy José Américo (PT-SP) will formulate a new request for information about the hospitalization of the writer Olavo de Carvalho at the Heart Institute (InCor) of the Hospital das Clínicas da USP, in 2021. He insists on answers about the suspicion that the Bolsonarista guru, who died on Monday (24), cut the line.
The parliamentarian is suspicious of privileged treatment, with the entry of Olavo into the public institution without obeying the order of the SUS. Américo called the São Paulo Public Ministry, which opened an investigation and said on Wednesday (26) that the investigation is ongoing, without providing details.
The PT said he will send a new official letter asking for responses from InCor, which denies any irregularities. He says that if the explanations “are not satisfactory”, he will appeal again to the Public Ministry.
Olavo de Carvalho was hospitalized at InCor in August 2021 to treat heart and kidney failure. He had already been admitted to the place for exams and general cardiological evaluation in July 2021, after a sudden illness during the flight from the United States to São Paulo.
After the congressman’s request for clarification, InCor stated that nothing unusual had occurred, and that the writer went by ambulance, through the emergency room, like any patient.
Américo, however, says that he asked for the name of the doctor responsible for the reception and for signing the hospitalization order, but he has not received the data so far. “I still don’t believe in the explanation”, he reiterates.
In a request to the Public Ministry last year, the PT highlighted that the doctor José Antonio Ramires was responsible for the treatment of Olavo at the time. Ramires was even quoted to take over the Ministry of Health in place of General Eduardo Pazuello.
The superintendent of the Hospital das Clínicas complex, Antônio José Rodrigues Pereira, has already participated in a hearing at the Legislative Assembly to officially respond on the matter and denied that there was fraud in the queue.
