In 2021, out of the 230 wishes we fulfilled, 137 were the dreams of children with some form of childhood cancer.
THE Alexander became the rapper he always dreamed of despite rare form of sarcoma that bothered him a lot, the Irene lived her tale in the enchanted castle while she was in cures for neuroblastoma, The Nicolas went to Crete with his family for the first time and after completing his treatments for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the Constantine slept cuddling with the unicorns in her new room during the treatments for her leukemia which suddenly appeared to her, while the Vassilis, he got the cell phone he always wanted, on his way out of the hospital where he overcame the neuroblastoma that upset his life. Wishes valuable for tthe cure for isolation, anger and hopelessness. We protected our families and children from the virus, without depriving them of the fulfillment of their wishes and hope, faithfully following the instructions of our doctors.
On February 15, we celebrate the courage, the struggle and the future of the children who fight and we invite you to watch the evolution of the health and life of our four children, while they will also convey the optimistic message of cancer survival. Georgia, Katerina, Angelos and Giannis, have grown up, have pursued medical professions and have remained our volunteers. They each have a unique story to share about the impact of wishing on their lives, and this will happen through a unique live streaming on Instagram of Make-A-Wish Greece on February 15, at 18:00. The discussion will be moderated by the scientific advisor of the organization, and Director of the Department of Pediatric Hematology – Oncology of ELPIDA, Dr. Vassilios Papadakis. Live streaming will not miss the voluntary experiences of people who have experienced the healing power of fulfilling a wish.
Fulfilling the wish of children with serious illnesses is not a gift, nor something temporary that offers only joy. It is the healing of our children’s souls. Their own new beginning which is made with the consistency and dignity that it deserves. If you want to help us set the new beginning for our children, support us in your own way. Give strength to our work with a donation to makeawish.gr or spread our purpose by acquiring Chris (collectible teddy bear) from makeawish-eshop.gr.
