The state of São Paulo recorded this Tuesday (8) the mark of 70% of the population aged 5 to 11 years vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19. 3.6 million doses were applied.
The share of children with the second dose reached 19.5%.
According to the Secretary of State for Health, another 821,100 children can already take the second dose, but have not yet returned to health facilities.
According to the folder, all municipalities received enough immunizers to vaccinate the public in this age group with at least one dose.
The doses offered are from Pfizer and Coronavac. Children aged 5 years and immunosuppressed aged 5 to 11 years are receiving the first immunization agent, while the others receive the second.
The interval between the two doses of Coronavac is 28 days and that of Pfizer is eight weeks.
To receive the doses, parents or guardians can pre-register on the Vacina Já website, clicking on the “Children up to 11 years old” button. Registration is not mandatory, but facilitates attendance at the time of vaccination.
Altogether, according to the São Paulo government, 89% of the eligible population in the state has a complete vaccination schedule. In relation to the total population, the index is 83.3%.
