The project contract was signed today, Wednesday, January 8, for the energy and functional upgrade and renovation of five Multi-Depth Regional Clinics in the Cyclades, at the 2nd Ministry of Health. Piraeus and Aegean, amounting to 1,988,376.90 euros plus VAT. These are the Multipurpose Regional Clinics of Kea, Kythnos, Sifnos, Serifos and Kimolos.

The tender for the project was carried out by the Strategic Importance Contracts Unit of the Superfund/Growthfund, with the contracting authority being the 2nd Health Region of the Ministry of Health. It is noted that the contract was signed by the Governor of the 2nd Health Region, Christos Roilos and the representative of the sponsoring company “Technocycladiki ATE”.

“The signing of the contract for the energy and functional upgrade of the Multi-functional Regional Clinics of Kea, Kythnos, Sifnos, Serifos and Kimolos is another step in the direction of equal access for all citizens to upgraded health services, regardless of their place of residence. With steady steps we are investing in the modernization of health infrastructure for a better future for all citizens, utilizing the means offered by the Recovery and Resilience Fund. We are carrying out the biggest renovation that has been done since the establishment of the NHS and at the same time we are strengthening the medical technological equipment with a program of 45 million. euro. We also invest in our valuable human resources, with additional training opportunities and scientific incentives. Our vision is a health system that stands close to every citizen, in every corner of the country, from Evros to Crete, and for this we work every day”, commented the Deputy Minister of Health Irini Agapidakis.

The Head of the Strategic Importance Contracts Unit (PPF) of the Hyperfund/Growthfund, Panagiotis Stamboulidis, said: “With the signing of the contract, amounting to almost 2 million euros, for the upgrade of the infrastructures in 5 Multipurpose Regional Clinics of the Cyclades, another decisive step is taken for the improvement of public health services in island Greece. Aware of the critical role played by the Strategic Contracts Unit (PPF) in enhancing regional development, we speedily and efficiently mature tender processes for projects that improve the daily lives of our islanders by ensuring they have access to better quality health services, and upgrade the tourism product of these areas. The PPF will continue, with the same consistency, to work on maturing projects of key importance to the social cohesion, economic development and sustainability of our islands.”

The Project is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with the co-financing of the European Union – NextGenerationEU and is subject to the special conditions of execution of the Actions and Projects of the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
