Gaga: The coronavirus is receding but we must be careful

by

The Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, expressed optimism about the course of the pandemic, but at the same time vigilance in terms of the data that emerge daily, from Eastern Crete and more specifically the Hospital of Agios Nikolaos.

Ms Gaga said she hoped to see a stabilization and a gradual reduction. “It simply came to our notice then. But things are fluid and we have seen this in the last two years with the pandemic and we have in mind if we need to take more measures. I hope it is not necessary “said Ms. Gaga, referring to the areas that show increased cases, such as Crete, which, however, as she stressed,” nowhere are we close to the big waves we went through. “So we are clearly on the lookout, we have our minds, but at the moment we do not need to do anything else.” The Deputy Minister of Health stressed that the issue is to be careful. “Yes, the pandemic will go away and I think it will go away soon, but we have to wear masks, people who have health problems have to be careful, so we are moving towards a normal life but in moderation.”

Ms. Gaga was taken on a tour of the hospital and was pleased with the infrastructure and expressed her intention to support it. Regarding the recruitment of new staff, he said that the announcements, initially for nursing and immediately after for medical and other staff, will start to be posted from next month.

Mrs. Gaga also visited the Hospital of Naples, while tomorrow, Saturday, she will visit the Hospitals of Ierapetra and Sitia.
