A subversive research comes to shake the waters and sleep of the male population, as scientists argue that those who have good quality sperm are likely to live up to 3 years longer than their peers.

Researchers have analyzed data on sperm quality by 80,000 men who have been attended by up to 50 years.

They found that men with more than 120 million kinetic sperm have an increased life expectancy of 2 to 3 years than those with less than 5 million kinetic sperm.

The “milestone” study is the largest that has been done so far and examines the relationship between the quality of sperm and mortality.

Head of the research was Dr Lærke Priskorn, a senior researcher, and Dr Niels Jørgensen, head of a Andrologist, who both work in the Department of Development and Reproduction at Copenhagen University Hospital.

They examined data from 78,284 men who assessed the quality of their sperm as part of a couple’s infertility examination.

The sperm quality assessment included sperm volume, concentration and ratio of sperm that were motor and normal.

What the researchers conclude is that ‘The lower the sperm quality, the lower the life expectancy

The team suggests that poor sperm quality could indicate that there are other underlying factors that affect both fertility and general health.

As a result, it could be possible to detect health problems if men examine the quality of their sperm.
