Opinion – Cannabis Inc.: Mike Tyson makes Cannabis candy launch go viral

by

Always very active on social media, the American boxer posted on Twitter the latest release from his company Tyson 2.0: bullets infused with THC (psychoactive substance of cannabis). Named Mike Bites, the treats are shaped like a human ear bitten off at the top.

The product references one of the most controversial fights of Tyson’s career. In 1997, the boxer bit his opponent Evander Holyfield’s right ear and was disqualified from the World Heavyweight Championship. He even had his boxing license revoked and was fined $3 million.

Now the blow was more accurate. Apparently, Tyson decided to have fun with the past. The bullet launch went viral. “Holy ears! Go get your Mike Bites now,” Tyson wrote on Twitter and Instagram recently.

Due to his strong and explosive temper, he had a lot of problems in his career. It was only when he entered the business of cannabis, in 2017, who grew into a successful entrepreneur. In California – an American state where recreational consumption is allowed – the boxer maintains a farm of cannabis. It also has a Tyson 2.0 product line. In the industry, THC-infused foods and beverages are very much in vogue in the US.

Just out of curiosity, the boxer has the program Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, where he receives famous guests for a chat. In 2020, he interviewed Evander Holyfield, who said he forgave his opponent. Worth watching.
