The first quality standards for the mental health of children and young people were developed by the World Health/Europe Organization, through the office for the quality of care and the safety of patients in Athens, responding to the need to provide high quality mental health services for children and young people, focusing on Quality standards were presented to the Ministry of Health.
Based on the rising research of the that/Europe, which is in the process of consultation, in its European region, 1 in 7 children and adolescents, aged 0-19, lives with some mental disorder, while suicide is the leading cause of death for young people aged 15-29 years.
In Greece, 1 in 4 adolescents, aged 15-29, lives with some mental disorder, while self-injury is the 6th cause of death in children and adolescents aged 10-14 and 15-19.
