The system started its operation by Evangelismos Hospital, and will extend to 15 large hospitals in the country next two months
Today, Thursday, May 15th, the operation of the electronic tracing system of patients in the on -call departments of the emergency departments. The system started its operation by the Evangelismos Hospital, and will extend to 15 large hospitals in the country in the next two months and 85 by the end of the year.
Through the application, citizens have the opportunity to be informed in real time on on -call hospitals to facilitate access to the necessary health services. At the same time, they have the opportunity to be informed of the available medical specialties covered by the hospital, as well as the estimated waiting times per specialty.
Upon his arrival at the hospital, the citizen will receive his ticket, known as the “wristband” from the special ticket at the entrance of the Emergency Departments (ICT). This ticket will accompany him at all stages of his medical service and carry a QR code. When scanning the code has the option:
- To learn his ticket number
- To know how many people preceded the waiting
- Be informed of estimated waiting time
- To cancel his ticket for any reason
The citizen remains waiting until it is called by the Secretariat/Office of Movement, which displays the ticket numbers on special screens. The sorting then guides him to the respective clinics.
Throughout, the ticket number is displayed on screens in central points, such as the corridors, outside the clinics or on the central screens of waiting areas.
If the arrival of the ICCs is done by an ambulance of EKAB, then the patient’s companion arrives at the emergency room will issue a ticket, will be able to be invited directly from the sorting and then the incident to be promoted to the doctors’ halls.
The same system enables, among other things, the treating physician to serve according to the gravity of each incident as well as transfer the service from one clinic to another, or to another secretariat with a simple click.
