ISA stresses that “will not allow the cultivation of the anti -vaccine climate through false news and will exhaust any legal means
The Athens Medical Association expresses his strong concern about recent publications and posts on online media, which speak of a “death of a child from a vaccine for streptococcus”, causing unjustified fear and confusion in public opinion.
“It is categorically clarified that there is no vaccine against streptococcus and of course it is not linked to any child’s death. Therefore, any relevant publication lacks a scientific basis and constitutes dangerous misinformation, with potentially serious impact on public health“, Says Isa.
He adds that the dispersion of such non -existent claims undermines citizens’ confidence in vaccination, one of the most powerful prevention pillars in modern medicine.
ISA stresses that ‘will not allow the cultivation of the anti -vaccine climate through false news and will exhaust any legal means against those who contribute to their dispersion“
It calls on the media and citizens to show responsibility, to cross their information and to trust only valid, scientifically documented sources.
