Brazil recorded 66 deaths from Covid and 2,835 cases of the disease, this second (15). With that, the country reaches 611,384 deaths and 21,958,306 registered cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The new records of cases and deaths occurred for 26 states. Acre, Amapá, Roraima and Sergipe did not register new deaths in the last 24 hours. Distrito Federal does not update on weekends and holidays.
The moving average of deaths is 255 deaths per day and that of cases is 10,618 infections.
The statistical resource that seeks to alleviate variations in data, such as those that usually happen on weekends and holidays, is calculated by adding up the deaths in the last seven days and dividing the result by seven.
The country’s data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.
Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in states.
Brazil registered 318,876 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Monday. According to data from the state health departments, there were 44,023 first doses and 205,813 second. There were also 243 single doses, 68,797 booster and additional doses.
In all, 156,962,922 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil — 121,043,503 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent.
Thus, the country already has 73.58% of the population with the 1st dose and 58.87% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule.
Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.84% and 77.48%.
Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 125,586,396 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.
Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.
The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
