Stop the upward trend in its concentration viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in the municipal waste of Thessaloniki is observed in the last measurements of the week for the research conducted by the Sewage Epidemiology Team of AUTh with EYATH, in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia and within the National Network of EODY.
As shown in the diagrams, after weeks of continuous increase of the viral load from the end of February onwards, in the last few days there is a tendency of its stabilization.
Specifically, in the samples taken daily at the entrance of the Thessaloniki wastewater treatment plant, regarding the rationalized values of relative viral load secretion, the average value of the two most recent measurements, ie Wednesday 30/03/2022 and Thursday 31/03/2022 are:
– Stable (-4%) in relation to the average value of the two immediately preceding measurements of Monday 28/03/2022 and Tuesday 29/03/2022.
– Marginally stable (+ 15%) in relation to the average price of the previous Wednesday 23/03/2022 and Thursday 24/03/2022.
Its valuation methodology coronavirus in municipal waste, developed by the AUTh team, streamlines the measurements of the concentration of the virus genome based on 24 environmental factors, which may alter the results of the measurements.
