With the pandemic crisis having given priority to public health, the conference Athens Health Summit 2021, with the signature of “Kathimerini”, comes on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November.
This conference of the “Daily Summits” will be attended by top government officials, officials of the European Commission and the World Health Organization, renowned scientists, heads of some of the largest Greek pharmaceutical companies and institutions.
At the forefront will be Covid-19, which remains an unprecedented global health and socio-economic crisis, having made clear the need for continued investment to boost public health.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, November 23, the first day of the conference, the Athens Health Summit will focus on the European pandemic strategy and the actions taken to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the health crisis. As in the recovery plan, which aims to make Europe stronger and more resilient to the pandemic.
The “present” will be given, among others, Yale Professor of Medicine and Sociology, Nikolas Christakis, and Professor of Epidemiology, Director of the Institute for Health Equality at University College London, Sir Michael Marmot, Chairman of the Pan-European Committee on Health and Sustainable Development, Mario Monti, the Minister of Health, Athanasios Plevris, the Commissioner for Health and Food Safety of the European Union, Stella Kyriakidou.
The management of the pandemic in Greece will be at the center of the Athens Health Summit on Wednesday, November 24, from the morning. With a view to the “next day”, the opportunities and possibilities that the country has to shield the health system in the post-pandemic era will be discussed, while in the foreground will be the Silver Economy, Health tourism and tourism senior.
Of particular interest will be the section on the digital transformation of the research and development sector, which will be attended by the Minister of State and Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Giannis Tsakiris, and the head of IDIKA, N.
