The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced today that reports of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine-associated heart disease against Covid-19 were much lower in boys aged 5-11 than in adolescents and young men. , representing a percentage slightly higher than normal.

The CDC, when presenting to an advisory committee considering the need for vaccine boosters in children, cited data from the Vaccine Adverse Reference System (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System – VAERS)

According to them, the proportion of reports of myocarditis in boys aged 5-11 years after the second dose of the vaccine was 2.7 cases per million. Respectively, in boys aged 12-15 years it was 48.1 per million and in adolescents aged 16-17 years it was 74.2 per million.

The CDC notes that no significant statistics were available on myocarditis in children aged 5-11 years, nor on analysis by Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) – a second vaccine safety database.
