Puppies are very synonymous with chewing, between the extraction of teeth, curiosity and the need to consume all this energy, this is one of their favorites.

Hold your place with a puppy

First of all, you need to make it hard for your little sprouts to find what they don’t want to chew on.

“Move things out of reach,” Lorna tells us.

“It’s not forever, but only in the puppy stage.”

don’t chase them

If they don’t have anything dangerous in their mouths, you run the risk that the whole thing is a fun game and you want to avoid chasing them.

“If your pup picks up your belongings, avoid chasing after them,” says Lorna.

“When you pick up a toy, it’s best to ignore it and reward it. If you encourage it to use a roar move, you’ll be drawn to it.”

Don’t give them a fake version of the item you want.

It may seem like a good idea, but for example, a puppy may not know the difference between old shoes and new ones.

“Don’t give them old shoes or toys to play with, as puppies can’t tell them apart,” says Lorna.

Let them break their toys.

Puppies will destroy toys, and that’s a good thing.

Lorna said:

Puppies are not little puppies trying to respect the first litter before they grow up, they want to separate them.

“This is a very natural behavior and very important to give them the right to do, otherwise it’s their couch, pillows, etc.”
