There’s a lot of Jessie Ware. She is a singer, podcaster, soulmaker and agitator throughout the music industry. But did you know that she also travels very well?
From New York to Skopelos (where he got married), it can seem like there are several places Jesse has never been. He Reveals the secrets of his journey and talks about his obsession with bringing back vast amounts of memories!
What is your favorite moment on your trip?
Literally on the road: Every six months growing up, we’d drive to North Wales after school on a Friday and get sick in the car after eating fish and chips somewhere.
Many of our vacation memories are problems we’ve been laughing about for years. But since then my mother has taken us to more places, vacations have always been a priority and now it’s vacations for my family too, usually in search of the sun. We go to the island of Skopelos in Greece every year and he goes from house to house.
And what is your favorite city?
I often travel to Europe and the states and often swim on tour buses. Sometimes you see more than just a place, and I especially love traveling to the United States.
There’s something about New York: when you get there, you get caught up in the madness and all that fast pace. I love being there. Lisbon is my favorite and obviously a bit closer.
What is the best souvenir to take home?
My mom didn’t appreciate it, but I thought it was a really good idea to buy a set of plates from Tulum in Mexico. It was probably one of our worst vacations. No matter how heavy your hand luggage was, the plate was the best.
All 10 of them went home the same way, but they could hardly get back home because they got caught in a blizzard passing through New York. They are really decorated and all hand painted in different colors.
I get a little angry with the furniture and my husband gets very angry with me. I came back with two huge light bulbs and a rug. I remember that one of the compatriots in my group had to install two Greek chandeliers…
What are the biggest changes in your life while traveling?
I got married in the summer of 2014 in Skopelos, Greece. It changed my life even though we were together for a long time. There are 180 people there, but this is not the easiest place. I noticed that I have many good friends who are very caring.
Going for the first time without my mother also changed my life. I went to South America with my two friends and started in Rio. That was a big problem when I was 19 years old.
What is the worst lunch you have eaten abroad?
I remember getting food poisoning on New Year’s Eve in Andorra. I ate cheese, ham and chicken bread. After eating chicken wings, I also got food poisoning on Grande Island in Brazil.
It was the worst since I was at McDonald’s in Lima. My two friends and I had to cancel the flight to Mexico due to busy vomiting and having to go to the hospital.
My stomach pushes me so hard, I want to taste everything that has bothered me many times.
