Images of the now-unoccupied house show its dilapidated state, from the painted walls to the fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom.

There is a nice garden behind the property but it is overgrown and out of reach.

Agents highlight its large attic and say it can be renovated with planning permission.

Location-wise, Skuen, a district of Nice Port Talbot, is a popular destination for families. Trains to Swansea and Cardiff run every few hours from the nearby station.

This industrial town is steeped in history, with the ruins of the Neti Monastery and an ancient stone known as Kareg Bika.

According to Rightmove, the median home price in the area is £156,703, far more than this fixer-upper can afford.

So if you have the know-how to restore this home to its former glory, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and want a taste of Welsh country living, this could be your perfect project.

Paul Foch Auction will put the house up for sale on Tuesday 30 August with a list price of £32,000 and a minimum bid of £29,000.
