(News Bulletin 247) – Bayer announces the arrival of three new members to its independent external Sustainability Council.

Thus, Agnes Binagwaho, Dante Pesce and Jeffrey Ubben will strengthen the expertise of the board in key areas such as access to medicines, human rights and sustainable finance. They will succeed Braulio Ferreira de Souza Dias, Liz Jarman and Anushka Ratnayake, all three resigning.

Since 2020, the sustainable development council has been supporting the board of directors in the implementation of its sustainable development objectives and advising it in various areas (R&D, education, policy, etc.).

Agnes Binagwaho is co-founder and former vice-chancellor of the University for Global Health Equity. She was named among the 100 most influential African women for 2020 and 2021.

Dante Pesce is Senior Strategic Advisor on Human Rights and Responsible Business Conduct for the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and former Chair and Member of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights male.

Finally, Jeffrey Ubben is Founder and Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of Inclusive Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on increasing shareholder value and promoting ‘sound environmental, social and governance practices’.
