(News Bulletin 247) – Baker Hughes announces a cooperation agreement with HIF Global around the development of a technology to capture carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere (‘CO2 Direct Air Capture’ or ‘DAC’).
In particular, the partners intend to test pilot units of Baker Hughes’ Mosaic DAC technology in order to accelerate the deployment of the DAC on a commercial scale.
“Revolutionary technologies like Mosaic that enable efficient, low-cost capture of CO2 from our atmosphere represent the future of CO2 recycling,” said Cesar Norton, CEO of HIF Global.
HIF Global also plans to capture 25 million tons of CO2 per year and combine it with green hydrogen to produce 150,000 barrels per day of eFuels and decarbonize more than 5 million vehicles in circulation today.
“We are excited to work alongside HIF to support their important efforts in deploying eFuels at scale, leveraging our Mosaic DAC technology,” said Lorenzo Simonelli, President and CEO of Baker Hughes.
