(News Bulletin 247) – BASF’s European personal care production sites announce they are implementing measures to achieve the 2050 Net Zero goals.

The Çayırova production site in Turkey has obtained the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC), confirming that the electricity consumed by the production site is generated from 100% renewable resources.

In Spain, the Zona Franca production site signed a power purchase agreement with a green energy supplier to convert 100% of the site’s electricity supply.

In France, at Pulnoy, the installation of a new steam production unit has already enabled the site to save around 30% in CO2 emissions compared to the replaced system.

In Germany, the site is continuing its journey towards climate neutrality with an approved investment that will reduce CO2 emissions by around 20%.

By 2030, BASF aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its production sites and energy purchases by 25% compared to 2018.
