(News Bulletin 247) – Euronext’s Scientific Council conducted its quarterly review of the composition of the Paris Stock Exchange indices. If the CAC 40 does not change, a little movement is to be noted on the side of the SBF 120.

A small reorganization takes place on the Parisian indices. The stock market operator Euronext announced the results of their quarterly review on Thursday evening. Once again, the status quo is maintained on the CAC 40.

On the other hand, the SBF 120, the second major index of the Parisian market, will welcome three new entrants and record one departure.

Founded in 2005 and supported by the Mulliez family, Voltalia was listed on the Paris Stock Exchange in 2014 and has since seen its share price more than double. The group specializes in the production and sale of electricity from renewable energies, such as solar and wind installations or biomass. Last year, its revenues exceeded 500 million euros, showing growth of 26%, while its capacity in operation and under construction stood at 2.6 gigawatts at the end of the year.

The return of Beneteau

Mersen is a much older company, the origin of which dates back to the creation of the company “Le Carbone” in 1892 then its merger in 1937 with “La Compagnie Lorraine de Charbons pour l’Electricité”, to give birth to “Carbone Lorraine”. . Renamed Mersen in 2010, the company focuses on electrical specialties and advanced materials for high-tech industries, with a position in the very dynamic alternative energy and semiconductor markets. Its turnover exceeded one billion euros in 2022, at 1.11 billion, for organic growth of more than 15%, while its share price rose by more than 40% over one year.

Beneteau will return to the SBF 120, just over 10 years after leaving it. The leisure boat specialist experienced some difficulties in its supply chain last year, but demand for its products proved to be vigorous, with revenue growth of nearly 20% excluding currency effects. Its action followed the overall improvement in its results with an increase of more than 150% over three years.

Conversely, McPhy will leave the SBF 120, an index he joined at the end of 2020. Since then, the title of the specialist in hydrogen production and distribution equipment has been divided by nearly 2.5. The company said on Tuesday that it had suffered an annual loss in 2022 of 38.2 million euros after 23.6 million euros in 2021.

All changes in the SBF 120 index will be effective on March 20th.

It remains to be seen whether the three new entrants will succeed in registering for the long term within the SBF 120. There is no shortage of recent examples of value remaining barely a few months, with among them Akka Technologies, Kaufman and Broad, Robertet, Solocal and again recently Somfy.
