(News Bulletin 247) – ABB today publishes a study on the impact of rising energy prices on business competitiveness, human resources and decarbonization.
According to ABB Electrification’s Energy Insights survey of 2,300 small and large business leaders across a range of industries, 92% of respondents believe that continued energy instability threatens their profitability and competitiveness .
The study found that energy costs and supply insecurity are now having a direct impact on human resources, with less investment in recruitment, training, personal development and wages.
The survey finds that more than half (58%) of business leaders surveyed say the cost of energy could delay reaching their sustainability and carbon reduction goals for a time horizon. at five years old.
“Mitigation of the impacts of this increase does not necessarily have to result in repercussions on the environment or human resources,” comments Morten Wierod, president of the ABB Electrification division. ‘With the right approach, savings can be made without sacrificing competitiveness, human resources or decarbonisation’.
