(News Bulletin 247) – Ericsson announces that for the 1st time in Taiwan, 5G network slicing has been used to broadcast the marathon live allowing ‘smooth transmission of live streaming data’.

With more than 11,000 participants, continuous movements to manage throughout a course sometimes stretching in vast wild spaces, guaranteeing reliable and quality streaming has always been a technical challenge for the teams in charge of the diffusion. of the test.

In this context, FET (Far EastTone Telecommunications), TVBS (a Taiwanese television and multimedia company) and Ericsson have worked together to deliver a seamless 5G experience by leveraging end-to-end 5G network slicing.

With the ability to isolate traffic through a slice configured to meet broadcasters’ specific throughput, latency and security needs, Ericsson’s network slicing technology enabled FET to deliver fast and flexible allocation of its bandwidth at the location of the event.

‘Network slicing enabled live streaming provided a superior viewing experience no matter where you are. I believe this will open up an array of opportunities for many other applications that require superb mobile experiences and custom network configuration,” commented Sibel Bahadir, Vice President and FET Account Manager, Ericsson Taiwan.
