(News Bulletin 247) – ABB is introducing a new cloud-based service for the e-mobility, utilities, data center and renewable energy sectors.
The service provides real-time power grid performance data 24/7 from anywhere in the world. It is currently being tested in Europe and the United States. It will allow operators to identify problems with their electrical installations with greater precision, deploy targeted maintenance teams more quickly and better understand the performance of their installations.
‘ABB Electrification’s CogniEN™ is a product-agnostic, cloud-based solution for cognitive power grids. Not only can the system hosted by Amazon Web Services remotely monitor the status of ABB electrical devices powering infrastructure such as electric vehicle (EV) chargers or switchgear, but it can also retrieve data from any device third-party electrics and upload them to the cloud in real time,” the group says.
This allows operators to remotely access up-to-date data on the performance of their installations.
