(News Bulletin 247) – TF1 shares fell on the Paris Stock Exchange on Tuesday, affected by the decline in audience for its star channel in April despite the good performance of some flagship programs such as ‘The Voice ‘ or ‘Koh Lanta’.
At 3:45 p.m., the action of the television group yields 1.8% after having lost up to 2.5% at the start of the session. At the same time, the SBF 120 index fell by around 0.4%.
According to Médiamat/Médiamétrie figures relayed by the group, the TF1 channel saw its audience share drop to 22.4% in April among women responsible for purchases under 50, its core target, compared to 23.3% the previous month and 22.6% in April 2022.
In its press release, the group nevertheless says that it remains a ‘wide leader’ on its targets with audiences which, in its view, testify to the attractiveness of its programs and the strong bond of proximity with the public, in particular among young people.
Its flagship Saturday evening program, the music show ‘The Voice’, once again stood out with an average of 4.3 million viewers, or 4% of the audience among women under 50 and 39 % among 15-34 year olds.
‘Mask Singer’, watched by four million viewers, displays 41% of PdA among women under 50 and 47% among 15-34 year olds.
Finally, ‘Koh Lanta’ claims 4.5 million viewers, i.e. the equivalent of 37% of PdA on FRDA-50, 35% on 25-49 year olds, 42% on
15-34 year olds.
But the Journal de 8:00 p.m. saw its audience crumble to 5.2 million viewers in April, or 26% audience share, against another 5.5 million (or 27% of PdA) the previous month.
Same dynamic for the 1:00 p.m. newspaper, which only attracted 4.6 million viewers last month (40% of PdA) against 4.7 million people (39% of PdA) in March.
