(News Bulletin 247) – BMW continued its good momentum in the first quarter of 2023. Revenue reached 36,853 million euros (2022: 31,142 euros/+18.3%).

The company’s operating performance was confirmed by its margins: The EBT margin stood at 13.9%, while the automotive segment’s EBIT margin increased to 12.1%.

The operational financial strength of the BMW Group is also reflected in the free cash flow of 1,981 million euros in the automotive segment.

In the first quarter of 2023, a total of 588,138 vehicles were sold (2022: 596,907 units/-1.5%). Sales of BMW BEV models more than doubled to 55,979 deliveries (2022: 26,362 units/+112.3%).

‘A high level of flexibility combined with our operational performance is the basis for ensuring the group’s success, even in the face of headwinds,’ said Oliver Zipse, Managing Director.

Forecasts for 2023 are confirmed amid continued volatility. The upward trend in BMW Group deliveries, clearly visible in March, continued globally in April.
