(News Bulletin 247) – Atari today announces the completion of the acquisition, announced on March 22, 2023, of Nightdive Studios, a video game development and publishing company based in Vancouver, Washington, in the UNITED STATES.
This acquisition will allow Atari to enrich its large portfolio of intellectual property rights, and to use Nightdive’s publishing capabilities and proprietary technology as part of its growth strategy focused on retro games.
“Atari’s support will allow us to grow our business and broaden our reach,” said Stephen Kick, CEO of Nightdive.
Wade Rosen, CEO of Atari, adds: ‘Nightdive has a particularly talented team that deserves its reputation as leaders in the field of retro games. I am convinced that we will contribute to their success. ‘
The purchase price for Nightdive consists of an initial amount of $9.5 million paid in cash for $4.5 million and in new Atari shares for $5.0 million, as well as an additional prize pool of up to $10 million, in cash over the next three years, based on Nightdive’s future performance.
