(News Bulletin 247) – Suzuki Motor Corporation, Daihatsu Motor Co and Toyota Motor Corporation will unveil prototype commercial minibus electric vehicles (BEVs) equipped with a jointly developed BEV system.
The unveiling will take place at an exhibition that will showcase the automotive industry’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, from this Thursday, May 18 to Sunday, May 21. The exhibition will be hosted by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association in conjunction with the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
The three companies have jointly developed a BEV system suitable for mini commercial vehicles by combining Suzuki and Daihatsu’s expertise in creating small cars with Toyota’s electrification technology.
Daihatsu will produce the vehicles, and Suzuki, Daihatsu and Toyota will each release their own version in fiscal year 2023.
The cruising range per charge is expected to be around 200km, and development is underway with the aim of creating a vehicle that can fully meet the needs of customers in the delivery industry.
