(News Bulletin 247) – After a gain of 0.6% to 7,492 points on Friday, the Paris Stock Exchange could start the week quite hesitantly, given futures up around 0.1%, while the issue of the US debt ceiling should remain at the center of attention.
As a reminder, Wall Street ended slightly lower on Friday, on “information that indicated that negotiations had been interrupted, a sudden pause which reinforced fears that an agreement would not be concluded soon”, according to Wells Fargo.
The negotiations in Washington with a view to raising the debt ceiling, and thus avoiding a default by the United States in the short term, should remain in everyone’s mind on Monday, especially since no major data is planned.
Nevertheless, the next few days will see the appearance of the PMI indices in flash estimate, inflation in the United Kingdom, business climate indices in France and Germany, as well as a new estimate of German GDP.
In the United States, the end of the week will be marked by the publication of a new estimate of economic growth, then of household income and expenditure, accompanied by a PCE price index usually scrutinized closely by the Fed.
