PARIS (Reuters) – The management company Phitrust announced on Monday that it has included with other shareholders of Carrefour an item on the agenda of the general meeting of the distributor, which will take place on May 26, relating to the strategy group climate.
“The information presented by Carrefour led us to question the group’s climate strategy, in particular its ‘Scope 3’ objectives, as the published figures do not include emissions from franchised stores (90% of stores in France and 76% in Europe),” Phitrust said in a statement.
The inclusion of a point on the agenda follows discussions with Carrefour which did not answer the questions raised, further indicates the management company.
“This point on the agenda must give rise to a formal response from Carrefour’s board of directors and to a debate during the general assembly”, she indicates.
The objective is to ask the Board of Directors to explain to shareholders its choices in terms of climate strategy and to clarify the reporting of Carrefour’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Phitrust acts alongside Edmond de Rothschild AM (EDRAM), La Banque Postale AM, Sycomore AM, MN (based in the Netherlands), OFI AM, Groupama AM, Ircantec, Candriam, CAVP, Promepar and Ecofi-gestion, which together represent 1.1% of Carrefour’s capital.
