(News Bulletin 247) – The results of the side impact tests carried out internally by Daihatsu on the Toyota Raize HEV “meet the regulatory safety standards” indicates the manufacturer, which specifies that these tests have not yet been confirmed by the authority certification.

As a reminder, on May 19, Daihatsu announced that it had found ‘wrongdoing’ in the certification procedures for the side impact tests (UN-R135) of the Daihatsu ROCKY HEV and Toyota RAIZE HEV intended for the Japanese market.

Shipments and sales of these vehicles were then suspended from that same day.

“We sincerely apologize for any concern and inconvenience this may have caused to all parties concerned, including customers”, indicates the manufacturer, which specifies that it will take the necessary measures to carry out these tests in the presence of certification authorities.

“We view this case not as an individual or workplace issue, but rather as a company-wide issue where an individual or workplace has been coerced into committing wrongdoing,” Toyota says. which pledges ‘to listen to the voices of those on the front lines and to respond carefully to the situation’.
