(News Bulletin 247) – Nestlé announced on Friday that it had strengthened its plant-based drinks offer with the launch of new products for ‘baristas’, professionals in the preparation of coffees.
The Swiss agrifood giant says it recently launched a coconut-based drink labeled ‘Nestlé Barista’ in Thailand for making cold coffees, which are particularly popular in this country.
In China, the group has been marketing two vegetable alternatives based on peas and oats for a year now, which can be used both in the preparation of coffees and teas.
In South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore, the Nestlé Barista range is available in the form of a pea-based vegetable drink.
In Brazil, Nestlé says it launched an oat drink for cold coffees and lattes under the Nature’s Heart Barista brand at the end of 2022.
In a press release, the Vevey group points out that the market for plant-based alternatives is now booming, with 40% of consumers wishing to adopt a diet that is light or free of animal products.
