(News Bulletin 247) – Sanofi announced Tuesday the ambition to become the first pharmaceutical company powered by artificial intelligence at scale.
On the occasion of the VivaTech fair, which is due to open tomorrow in Paris, the group explained that it wanted to bet on artificial intelligence and data science in order to accelerate its scientific breakthroughs.
The implementation of AI programs is notably supposed to allow it to reduce research times thanks to better predictive modeling and the automation of activities deemed to be time-consuming.
The idea is to speed up research processes from weeks to just hours and improve the identification of potential targets by 20% to 30% in therapeutic areas such as immunology, oncology or neurology.
To do this, Sanofi intends to deploy its ‘plai’ application, developed in collaboration with the artificial intelligence platform Aily Labs, which gives a 360° view of all the company’s activities.
This application aggregates available internal company data and harnesses the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver timely insights and tailored predictive scenarios.
