(News Bulletin 247) – AWS, the ‘cloud’ subsidiary of Amazon, announced yesterday that it intends to invest more than 100 million dollars in a project aimed at connecting its engineers with its customers in order to accelerate the innovation in the field of generative artificial intelligence.
The idea of the program, called ‘AWS Generative AI Innovation Center’, is to connect its experts, strategists and scientists in order to help client companies benefit from AI and machine learning.
With their help, pharmaceutical laboratories will be able to accelerate the discovery of new drugs, manufacturers of manufactured products will be able to develop new industrial processes and banks will be able to provide more personalized advice, explains the technology group in a press release.
Amazon says it can draw on 25 years of AI development and a customer base now numbering more than 100,000 accounts with AWS.
Groups such as travel guide publisher Lonely Planet and low-cost airline Ryanair have already expressed their intention to participate in the project.
