(News Bulletin 247) – Atos announced on Monday that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with a view to selling its climate consulting subsidiary EcoAct to Schneider Electric, a transaction which could enable it to complete its program of ‘non-strategic’ asset disposals in advance. .
The entity in question offers a portfolio of end-to-end services aimed at supporting organizations in achieving their net zero CO2 emissions objective, from planning and forecasting, to offsetting carbon emissions. .
The company generated a turnover of around 70 million euros last year, for a workforce of nearly 400 people.
The technology services group explains that the operation could also allow it to establish a strategic partnership with Schneider in the field of decarbonization.
Atos says it wants to cooperate closely with Schneider in order to perfect offers aimed at accelerating the journey of its customers towards ‘net zero’.
Note that the proposed transaction does not include the ‘Net Zero Transformation’ (NZT) division, part of the Eviden business line, which helps its customers to catalyze and accelerate their decarbonization objectives, and which will be retained at the within the Atos group.
According to Atos, the proposed transaction should be finalized during the second half of the year.
Following this announcement, the Atos share rose by 2.7% on Monday morning on the Paris Stock Exchange.
