(News Bulletin 247) – Stellantis NV yesterday unveiled the ‘STLA Medium’ platform, designed for electric vehicles and presented as having ‘a range of 700km (435 miles), energy efficiency, on-board performance and recharging power that are best in class’.
The platform has been designed to accommodate a wide range of vehicles and propulsion configurations from the C and D segments, representing the core of the market, i.e. 35 million vehicles sold in 2022 and nearly half of the 78.5 million vehicles sold in the world that same year.
According to Stellantis, up to two million vehicles per year will be able to be assembled on STLA Medium in several production sites around the world, starting with Europe.
‘What we see today is the result of nearly two years of uncompromising innovation to deliver safe, clean and affordable mobility, backed by our €30 billion investment in electrification and software by the end of 2025,” said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis. –
