(News Bulletin 247) – London Gatwick Airport, a 50.01% subsidiary of Vinci Airports, today published its results for the first half of 2023.

For the first six months of the year, the London airport recorded a net profit of 79.1 million pounds sterling (M£), up 56% compared to the same period a year earlier. For its part, operating profit (Ebitda) came to £235.7 million, up 59%.

It must be said that the number of passengers over the period rose sharply (+41%), to 18.5 million. As a result, half-year revenue is also up sharply, up +45% to £423.3m, including aeronautical revenue (£212.7m) and retail & parking (£210.6m).

The airport is also announcing an investment of some £250 million as part of its commitments to become a ‘zeronet’ airport by 2030 (for scopes 1 & 2).

“It is also promising to see the recovery of the airport continue, as our offer has grown. Now, 49 airlines serve more than 200 destinations from London Gatwick, including 50 long-haul routes,” said Stewart Wingate, Managing Director of London Gatwick.
