(News Bulletin 247) – Lockheed Martin announces that it has delivered OSIRIS, a 5G communications network infrastructure test bed, to the Marine Corps Base Camp (USMC) in Pendleton (California).

The idea is to be able to test an open systems interoperable and reconfigurable infrastructure solution (OSIRIS) and start experimenting with the mobile network.

Phase 2 will make it possible to experiment and evaluate the integration of specific mission applications on the bench.

‘The Lockheed Martin-led team, in close partnership with the United States Marine Corps, has proven that rapidly evolving commercial 5G technology can be leveraged in near real-time to solve current and emerging mission challenges’ , said Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin vice president of Spectrum Convergence.

‘The OSIRIS program builds on Lockheed Martin’s experience in providing interoperable solutions between vendors based on open standards, which will enable a wide variety of composable 5G solutions suitable for any mission and platform’, he added.
