PARIS (Reuters) – The main European stock markets are trading slightly lower on Thursday at the start of the session while awaiting data on inflation in the euro zone and the United States.
In Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.17% to 7,255.04 points around 08:50 GMT. In London, the FTSE 100 lost 0.07% while in Frankfurt, the Dax managed to gain 0.03%.
The EuroStoxx 50 index is down 0.2%, the FTSEurofirst 300 is down 0.14% and the Stoxx 600 is down 0.16%.
The Stoxx 600 is currently posting a gain of 5.9% over the month of November and is on track to record its best monthly performance since March 2021.
Equity markets were buoyed this month by the prospect of an end to the monetary tightening cycle of the major central banks and expectations of a rate cut from next year.
In this context, the consumer price figures in the euro zone (10:00 a.m. GMT) and the PCE price index in the United States (1:30 p.m. GMT) will be closely monitored to confirm these expectations less than two weeks before the next meetings of the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England.
In terms of values, Remy Cointreau climbed 6.67% while the fall in results in the first half was expected and the group confirmed its annual forecasts.
