(Reuters) – Dassault Aviation reported on Wednesday lower order intake in 2023, and deliveries lower than expected due to delays in supply chains which will also weigh in 2024.
Order intake amounted to 8.35 billion euros last year compared to 20.95 billion euros the previous year.
Only 13 Rafale and 26 Falcons were delivered in 2023, compared to a forecast of 15 and 35, “due to supply chain problems and the delayed entry into service of the Falcon 6X”, indicates the group in a press release.
“The difficulties in supply chains that began with the Covid crisis are severely affecting subcontractors in the aeronautics industry who are not always able to deliver with the quality and on time required,” adds Dassault Aviation.
“The failures of certain suppliers, as well as capacity shortages, mainly in aerostructures, have resulted in delays in production for the group,” continues the group, indicating that these risks will still weigh on its activity in 2024.
On the Paris Stock Exchange, Dassault Aviation shares fell 0.77% in early trading.
