Drivers who made dangerous maneuvers, such as the so-called “hairpins” and “swoors” developing high speeds, on the road leading to Lycabettus as well as to peripheral of Attiko Alsos were arrested and the prescribed sanctions were imposed by Attica Traffic police officers.

Four drivers were referred to justice while an equal number of cars were immobilized and transported with cranes.

The police officers of the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Teams (OTEPTA) and the Attica Traffic Directorate removed the license plates from 15 cars, 9 driving licenses and four diplomas and confirmed 42 violations of the Road Traffic Code: six for performance and an equal number for not wearing helmets, four because the drivers did not have a license, four because the vehicles did not have mirrors, four for illegal parking, two for excessive noise, one for music on the crosswalk and 13 for other violations.

In total, yesterday Tuesday the Attica Traffic police officers carried out 1169 checks on vehicles (492 cars, 8 passenger vans, 360 vans, 261 motorcycles and 48 mopeds) and arrested 22 drivers, including two taxi drivers for excessive fares and fake special driving license.

The police “cut off” 367 calls, most of them (120) to truck drivers for tachograph-violation of working hours. At the same time, 36 motorcyclists were detected riding without a helmet and 28 car drivers without a seat belt.

One driver was caught running a red light and another 20 regulatory road signs, one driver making dangerous maneuvers and seven others performing stunts and another talking on a mobile phone. There are 20 vehicles that have been identified as not having “passed” the KTEO and one uninsured.

Another 139 violations were confirmed and the police stopped 23 vehicles and took away 65 driving licenses, 48 ​​diplomas and the number plates of 30 vehicles.
