PARIS (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange is progressing on Thursday at the opening, a salvo of results supporting the technological sector the day after the last decision of the Federal Reserve.
In the first exchanges, the Dow Jones index earns 5.03 points, or 0.01% to 44,718.55 points and the Standard & Poor’s 500, wider, increased from 0.41% to 6,063.86 points. The Nasdaq Composite takes 0.44% or 83.78 points, at 19,716.105.
Several of the largest American companies have published results deemed encouraging and reassured the markets, a few days after the strong fall in technological actions launched by the announcements of the start-up Deepseek.
On Wednesday, the Nasdaq had already returned to half of the land lost on Monday.
The figures and announcements of Meta and Tesla have indeed reassured, the two titles progressing respectively by 2.4% and 4.8% respectively in the first exchanges.
The semiconductor sector is also increasing after the right figures from Lam Research, which advances 5.2% at the opening.
Microsoft and UPS fell 5.5% and 13.6% after results below expectations, while investors are preparing for publication after the fence of Apple figures.
The federal reserve also maintained its rates unchanged on Wednesday, judging that its monetary policy was well positioned to achieve both its objective of employment and inflation.
