(BFM Stock Exchange) – The Paris Stock Exchange begins the week on a positive note despite the prospect of a fall from the head of the French executive, and with him his government after the vote of trust in the National Assembly. Difficult day for Edenred and Pluxee who were under pressure after the opening of an investigation by the Competition Authority in Türkiye.
The Paris Stock Exchange kept good despite a crucial vote in France. The CAC 40 closes not far from its highest of the day, thanks to an increase of 0.78% to 7,734.84 points, this Monday, September 8.
And yet, the political context in France does not encourage investors to take the slightest risk. It is indeed this Monday that Prime Minister François Bayrou engaged the responsibility of his government in a vote of trust in the National Assembly, a vote which should, except last minute theater, seal the fall of the boss of the French executive.
Several political parties opposed to the Prime Minister’s budget project have already announced that they would not trust him. The Prime Minister said that he was going to resign to Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, September 9, if he did not collect the confidence of the deputies.
Calm on the bond market
For the time being, there is no nervousness on the bond market. The yield of the 10 -year maturity obligation changes to 3.41% and that of the obligation at 30 years to 4.33% at the end of European markets. In reality, François Bayrou’s resignation has already been anticipated by investors, as soon as the vote of trust on August 25 was announced.
In Japan, the political climate is not in good shape either. The Japanese Prime Minister announced his resignation on Sunday, after electoral setbacks this summer.
On the side of Wall Street, the indices are up, carried out by the prospect of a drop in rate of the American federal reserve after the disappointing employment figures published at the end of last week. At the end of European markets, the Dow Jones appreciates 0.14%, the S&P 500 climbs 0.33% while the Nasdaq Composite resumes 0.7% and scored an absolute record at 21,885.62 points during the session.
