The ball of quarterly publications on the CAC 40 is about to begin. News Bulletin 247 has put together a small calendar (at the end of the article) with the publication dates so that you can follow this season as best as possible.
We have specified for each company, what types of results the company will publish over the period (turnover, activity indicators or complete results).
Remember that Pernod Ricard will deliver its revenues not for the third quarter but for the first quarter of its 2025-2026 financial year, the spirits group operating on a staggered schedule, with accounts closed at the end of June.
An intense end of the month
Publicis and LVMH will kick off the season on Tuesday October 14. These companies will be followed by Essilorluxottica and Pernod Ricard. Some days will be busier, such as Thursdays October 23 and 30. Around ten CAC 40 companies will reveal revenues or complete accounts over these two days.
Hopefully this earnings season will be better than the last. During the previous wave, in July, residents of the flagship index of the Paris Stock Exchange suffered, with numerous disappointments and heavy sanctions.
Of the 39 CAC 40 companies, only 15 recorded an increase, while 23 recorded a decrease (Eurofins achieved the “feat” of posting a perfectly stable variation (0.00%) following the publication of its results). The average variation of the CAC 40 groups then stood at -2.3%, an extremely bad figure.
Among the biggest losers, Renault which plunged by 18.5% on July 16. The title of the diamond brand then suffered its worst session since March 2020, after issuing a heavy warning on results.
For this third quarter, there is little room for optimism. European companies are preparing to report their worst quarterly results since the start of 2024, and are expected to record, on average, a 0.2% drop in profits in the third quarter, according to LSEG data, cited by Reuters.
