Here are tips for first-time Disney visitors

by

Passport and American visa up to date, tickets purchased, itinerary drawn up and hotels booked: it seems that the long-awaited first visit to Disney will really happen.

Check below some valuable tips for first-time tourists in the complex’s parks.

  • Walt Disney World is located in Orlando, Florida, and consists of four theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park, with its famous Cinderella Castle, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Epcot. The four offer interesting attractions, for all tastes, and should be included in the itinerary of first-time tourists.

  • For a complete and more relaxed visit, schedule a minimum of one day for each park

  • Tickets are sold on Disney’s own website. With the standard ticket it is possible to go to one park per day. There is also the option to upgrade the ticket, called park hopper, which allows you to visit more than one park on the same day. You must always make a reservation, through the Disney Park Pass reservation system, for the first park you will visit. Reservations are recommended to be made shortly after purchasing tickets.

  • Prices vary according to the date chosen for the visit and decrease according to the number of days purchased. The more days in the package, the lower the values. On a four-day park package, for example, for a visit in July 2022 and already with the park hooper upgrade, the price for each day’s admission is approximately $135 plus tax (prices verified May 24, 2022). 2022).

  • Disney offers three services for the visitor to save time in queues. The first, Disney Genie +, which makes lightning lanes available (a kind of smaller VIP line) for selected attractions. In this option, the user must schedule, through the My Disney Experience app, the time to visit the chosen toy. There is no limit on reservations and, depending on logistics, it is possible to enjoy between five and six attractions with shorter queues on the day. Disney Genie+ is $15 per day, per person. The second service is the individual purchase of lightning lanes, limited to two per day, with prices that vary according to dates and the type of attraction chosen. Appointment through My Disney Experience is also required. It is also possible to combine the two services, increasing your chance to save time and enjoy more attractions. The third option, this one to completely skip the lines, and also the most expensive, is Disney VIP Tours. In it, a Disney guide picks up the visitor at the hotel and accompanies him to all the attractions of his choice, always using the shortest paths to the entrance of the toys. It starts at US$425 per hour for a group of up to ten people, with a minimum purchase of seven hours, or US$297.50 per person.

  • Wake up early. The parks open at different times, between 7:30 am and 9 am. Arriving minutes before opening hours can guarantee you can visit the busiest attractions with shorter lines (even using regular lines).

  • Bring light and comfortable clothes.

  • Going to the parks with the kids? Go easy. All parks even offer stroller parking areas.

  • There are more than 30 lodging options within the Disney complex. The parks open half an hour earlier for those staying at these hotels, an even greater chance to enjoy the day with fewer lines. In addition, there is free transportation between the official hotels and the parks.
