Law on Universities: What is changing in the mechanism of electing teachers and in the administration

  • Increase of excellence criteria for the election and development of Faculty Members.

In relation to way of managing universities The Senate of each University will deal only with academic and research issues and not with administrative and financial issues, which are transferred to the Board of Directors.

Specifically, the Boards of Directors consist of six internal faculty members of the University and five external members, coming from professors of foreign universities, natural persons and representatives of international organizations or social partners.

There is a position of executive director, who is selected by the Board of Directors and can come from inside or outside universities or be a private individual. The rector “may be removed in case of a significant speech and an increased majority” by the Board of Directors.
